Undergraduate
I have experience teaching courses across the social sciences, including sociology, public policy, education, and economics. For all courses listed below, I served as a teaching assistant.
Education Policy in the U.S., Princeton School of Public and International Affairs
Introduction to Sociology, Princeton Department of Sociology
Claims & Evidence (research methods), Princeton Department of Sociology
Introduction to Microeconomics, UPenn Department of Economics
Graduate
In addition to undergraduate courses, I served as an instructor for Princeton sociology's graduate methods camp between 2020 and 2022 under the leadership of Brandon Stewart. This summer program is mandatory for incoming PhD students in sociology, introducing them to coding skills in R and mathematics (matrix algebra and calculus) necessary for success in the graduate statistics sequence.
Secondary/adult education
Prior to graduate school, I was a full-time classroom teacher for two years, leading sections of precalculus, algebra II, algebra I, and coaching basketball and football. As a PhD student, I have continued to teach at the high school level through Upward Bound, Heights Philadelphia, and The Franklin Institute Scholars program. I have also served as the math instructor for the Test Prep Institute, an organization that partners with school districts and Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) to assist educators of color in earning their teaching licenses.
